- Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
- Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
The days are starting to blur together but these are the pictures from yesterday's evening trip to Taipei's Memorial Halls in tribute to Sun Yat-sen, the national "Father of the Nation", and Chiang Kai-shek who was the first term president for the Republic of China in Taiwan.
First stop at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Quite a bit of people coming in and out and to my surprise there was a group of around 20 practicing hip hop by the entrance doors.
Mini statue of Sun Yat-sen.
We ventured into the little museum inside where people can read through old documents and correspondence such as the constitution that he drafted for the Republic of China as well as old photographs and belongings. In one letter that he addressed to his friend during the time the Qing Dynasty had detained him in London, he ended his letter "Woe to me!" which I found somewhat amusing (not that his situation was though he did escape!)
A salute to the Father of the Nation!
Next stop - Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall!

As we walked up to see the statue of Chiang Kai-shek, we turned around and realized that the sun was a fiery red ball in the sky. Unfortunately it didn't capture on photo but it was a beautiful sight.

Unbeknownst to us, as we were leaving, it was time to bring down the national flag. Soldiers came marching
The Huang men's sudden inspiration to join the army (Huang Shu Shu and Xiao Huang)
Ending the night as well as this post with a yummy bowl of green bean and jelly dessert =)
