第十一天: Day 11 // Hellos and Goodbyes

For this lovely day, Eric and I headed to Tienmu to meet up with Rachel and Mark (Dawn and Mike were off to an adventurous trip to the beach).

First stop was McDonalds since I was wanting a Big Mac. Eric "sang" (more like read) a song and won a coupon for a free Big Mac. Unfortunately we'd have to use it at a different time to get the burger. Nonetheless, we munched while watching a grandmother with three young girls.

The bus ride to Tienmu was about half an hour. Then we went on to visit Mark's old school: the Taipei American School. It was pretty fun since we got to meet a lot of the faculty. Eric was excited to meet his college counselor from his old high school in Shanghai since he was now working at TAS. It was him afterall who suggested Eric to go to Seattle University.

(From left to right) Mr. Friedrich, Mark's college counselor; Mark; Rachel; Eric; Mr Lowman and his wife whose working in the school's office.

It was pretty funny because Mr. and his wife were like "He's trouble!"
Mr. Lowman told a funny story how his office used to be a corner in the library and every time Eric came, no one there was able to do any reading or studying. Oh, how things don't change.

The track field

After our tour of the school, we stopped by a frozen yogurt and ice cream shop. I had Papaya Milk Ice Cream, which was delicious! It was the first time for me to try this flavor.

We went to Mark's house and saw these cute pictures :) Can you guess which one is Mark?

We were laughing so hard in his living room because he's Santa. His mom had him dress up and visit her classroom. Santa!

We jammed for a bit with his musician father who wanted Eric to play some songs that he was trying to figure out on piano. It was a fun time and I loved hearing the way he played and sang.

In the evening, Eric's mom took us all out for one last meal since Dawn and Mike would be leaving tomorrow. We had hot pot!

I didn't eat this, this was Eric's. I'm not sure what it was. An egg and a roll?

Getting set up for hot pot!
(Visual Illusion: looks like Eric's hand but it's not :) )

The dipping sauces were delicious. The one on the right is a peanut sauce, which was pretty good.

Dessert! I don't remember what I ordered but it was something mango. Tasted like a custard and it was very, very, very good.

Ironically, all the boys ordered the same thing - some kind of mango ice with condensed milk.

And the girls did too!

A pretty good night to end the day. Mike and Dawn's trip to Taiwan seemed to end so fast but I suppose we were having too much fun :)

晚安!

  1. The food in McDonald in Taiwan is much better isn't it? Somehow I find the McDonald here incredibly bad....

The mango custard looks sooooooo good.
